The Occupation Therapy Department at the Center for Children with Special Needs specializes in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders, sensory-motor deficits, learning disabilities, and other developmental disorders.

Children that we may see may show weakness in the areas of:
• Sensory processing • Oral-motor skills • Feeding • Handwriting • Visual motor abilities • Perceptual skills • Motor planning • Self-care performance • Muscle strength • Postural stability • Fine and gross motor skills

Services That We Provide:

Evaluations

• Administration and interpretation of standardized assessments, including the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test
• Unidisciplinary and interdisciplinary evaluations with the other members of the Center’s Team (psychologist, speech and language clinicians, special education)

Treatment

• Individual therapy
• Group therapy

Consultation

• On-site school program consultation
• PPT participation for IEP development
